Lyons Demesne, former seat of the Cloncurry Family, was purchased in 1962 by University College Dublin and used as its Faculty of Agriculture until 1990.

It remained unused and fell into a state of dilapidation until the Ryan family purchased it in 1996. The house has been completely restored, the east and west wings being rebuilt to match the existing incorporating a half-size Olympic pool and an orangery in the latter. More recently the restoration of the Italian parterre gardens has been completed.
