Born Dublin 14th October 1945. Educated at University College Dublin 1963-68 and University of Pennsylvania 1969-70. Worked in London with Chamberlain, Powell and Bon, London and Louis I. Kahn, Philadelphia (3 years) and in 1972 returned to Ireland as first year master at the School of Architecture, University College Dublin. Commenced practice with John Meagher in 1976.

Lectures and teaches at University College Dublin. Lectured by invitation at The American Irish Historical New York Society 2008, Edinburgh University 1981, Plymouth Polytechnic 1990, Architectural Association of Ireland 1983, Portsmouth Polytechnic 1988 and “Designs on Europe Symposium” 1991. Architectural Association London 1994, Cambridge University 1994, North Western Architects Association N.I. 1994. East London University 1995, Scott Sutherland School of Architecture Aberdeen 1997, Oslo School of Architecture and Oslo Association of Architects 1997.
